Experience Galveston Island
Galveston Island is so much more than a beach destination. Regardless of your tastes' there is something for everyone.
Here are some of our favorites:
Places to Eat
Sunflower Bakery – Great for breakfast! Lunch and dinner are good too. The line forms early. Cross Broadway and walk straight down 14th towards the harbor.
Shykatz – Absolutely the best desserts anywhere. Just a short walk away at the corner of 15th and Ave L.
Bronco Burritos – Breakfast only, located at 4917 and Broadway. Worth the drive.
Donut Palace – Another place to walk – you’ll need it to burn the calories from this local favorite. Located at Broadway and 21st.
Shrimp & Stuff – Enjoy the original super casual location at Ave O and 39th or try the new location downtown at 216 23rd St. for more menu options.
Things To Do
The Bryan Museum – a wonderful collection of Texas art and artifacts located in the old orphanage that was originally constructed by the same brick mason that build Lucas Apartments. The orphanage was damaged in the 1900 hurricane so only the foundation and part of the first floor remains of the original structure.
The Rosenberg Library – There is a free exhibit located on the top floor and an ever changing small art gallery
